Surveys
Seven major surveys will be carried out during the lifespan of this project. Four of these are national surveys and the remaining three are European surveys. In addition to these surveys, LifeObs will facilitate the use of other data, such as the EDP (Échantillon démographique permanent / Permanent demographic sample) and TCM (Tronc commun des ménages / Common household questionnaire).

  The LifeObs project will promote and facilitate the re-use of other databases, such as the EDP (Échantillon démographique permanent / Permanent demographic sample) and TCM (Tronc commun des ménages / Common household questionnaire).

Methods
The eight surveys of the LifeObs project will be coupled with methodological innovations regarding the preparation of longitudinal surveys, multi-mode data collection, the use of new software, and the enrichment of surveys via matching with various administrative data sources.

Training

The main objective of the LifeObs Training Department is to provide training on various data skills to prospective users (students, researchers, professors, research support personnel, etc.) of the surveys to be developed by this Observatory.

Educational tools and online learning opportunities[1] (tutorials, MOOCs, etc.) will be developed for the LifeObs surveys. Seminars using these training resources will also be organised.

The Strasbourg and Bordeaux University Data Platforms will be in charge of these training activities. The sharing of teaching materials and survey datasets amongst the different PUDs will also be facilitated.
